Markuply ("Markuply", "we", "us") is a Shopify application built and operated by Digital Genesis. This policy explains what data Markuply collects when a merchant installs it, how that data is used, and the choices merchants have. It applies to the Markuply app only.
1. What Markuply does
Markuply lets merchants paste HTML generated by AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Grok) and turns it into a clean, branded page ready to publish on their Shopify store — replacing placeholder images, mapping links to real store content, fixing forms, and applying the store's branding.
2. Information we collect
When a merchant installs Markuply, we collect and store:
- Shop information: your store's
.myshopify.comdomain and the OAuth access token Shopify issues for the app's approved permissions. - Content you create in the app: mockup HTML you paste, the choices you make while converting it (image replacements, link mappings, branding selections), saved projects, branding presets, and version history of pages you generate.
- Usage data: lightweight internal analytics (e.g. that a conversion started, how many assets were detected, which plan a shop is on) used solely to understand and improve the app. This data is not sold or shared with advertisers.
- Billing status: your subscription plan and status, provided to us by Shopify's Billing API. We do not receive or store your payment card details — Shopify handles all billing directly.
Markuply does not collect data about your customers. The app operates on your store's admin content (pages, products, themes, files) that you already have access to — it does not access or process your shoppers' personal information, orders, or checkout data.
3. Access scopes we request
Markuply requests the following Shopify permissions, each used only for the feature it supports:
read_files/write_files— browsing and uploading images to your store's file library.read_online_store_pages/write_online_store_pages— publishing converted pages.read_content/write_content— reading and creating blog content.read_products— mapping placeholder links and product cards to real products in your catalog.read_themes— reading your published theme's fonts and colors for the "Match my theme" feature.
4. Third-party services
Pro-plan AI features (automatic alt text, AI asset labels, and — when enabled — the AI Touch-up chat) send the relevant image URLs or page HTML to Anthropic's Claude API to generate results. Anthropic processes this data solely to return the requested output and does not use it to train models on our plan. We do not send your data to any other AI or analytics vendor.
5. How we use your information
- To provide and operate the app's core functionality.
- To save your projects and preferences so you can return to them later.
- To enforce plan limits (e.g. the free trial's conversion count) and manage billing.
- To understand feature usage in aggregate and improve the app.
- To provide customer support when you contact us.
6. Data retention and deletion
We retain shop data for as long as the app remains installed. If you uninstall Markuply, or 48 hours after uninstall (per Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks), all data associated with your shop — saved projects, presets, cached results, usage records, and version history — is permanently deleted from our systems. You can request earlier deletion at any time by contacting us (see Section 8).
7. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about your shop under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. Since Markuply does not process your customers' personal data, these rights apply to your own shop-level account data. Contact us to exercise them.
8. Contact us
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to support@nehemiahapps.com.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
